About This Role
The Senior Unified Communications Engineer is part the UC Engineering team that is responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and management of technologies and user experience primarily in the Microsoft Teams environment. The best candidates will have a strong technical background in all aspects of Unified Communications, including voice, video, chat from a variety of UC platforms. This position works closely with the Infrastructure and Operations IT team and business partners to deliver consistently excellent user experiences.
What You’ll Do
Design and implementation of Microsoft Direct routing
Support of Microsoft peer to peer calling and meetings
Architect and manage existing Ribbon Session Border Controller infrastructure
Architect and manage existing Microsoft Teams Room infrastructure
Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on implementation, optimization, and security of Microsoft Teams
Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new software, hardware, tools, systems, and processes to provide a state-of-the-art UC experience both in the office and at home
Document procedures and processes
Work closely with the UC Operations team to successfully hand off operational support of significant changes and new technologies after implementation
Provide Tier 3 support to the UC Ops Team and escalate issues internally when appropriate
Offer thoughts and solutions on improving current technology
Minimum Experience Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in a Unified Communications Engineer
Strong analytical and communication skills
Strong troubleshooting skills from the application through the network
Previous experience troubleshooting in a complex computing environment
Previous experience working with outsourced partners
Experience working in a regulated industry preferred
Experience working in global, virtual environments preferred
Nice-to-haves Knowledge Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Microsoft Certifications: Teams Administrator and Teams Voice Engineer
Required skills:

Good troubleshooting skills
Self-sufficient, can own an issue and work on it till completion
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams
Advanced knowledge of Direct Routing solution for Microsoft Teams
Advanced knowledge of Session Border Controllers
Advanced knowledge of SIP Trunking solutions
Advanced knowledge of Call Quality Dashboard
Knowledge of Teams and SIP phones (AudioCodes)
Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Room technologies (Logitech, Crestron)
Knowledge of Microsoft Server environment (2012, 2016)
Knowledge of Networking technologies (switches, routers, load balancers, DNS, firewalls, proxy servers, QoS)
Knowledge of NAT & Firewall Traversal
Knowledge of troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, etc.)
Understanding of Microsoft licensing and assignment
Experience with the following: Enterprise Voice, PSTN Calling and Conferencing
Experience of recording solutions with Microsoft Teams
Experience with Microsoft Support (raising cases, escalating)
