You will join a dynamically developing Data Strategy, Engineering and Innovation team, a part of global Digital, Technology and Data Hub. As a Senior Data Architect, a typical day will include:
· Lead the data design of solutions for large projects and programs; through expert knowledge translate high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata
· Manage senior business stakeholders to secure strong engagement for the solution and ensure that the delivery of the project aligns to longer-term strategic roadmaps
· Lead collaborative team working with other areas within Data and Analytics team to ensure that all solutions are complete, operable, conform to business processes, and meet the business needs with the agreed quality of service
· Be responsible throughout the entire project lifecycle for the end-to-end solution of the project and compliance with enterprise data model and logical data groups
· Provide clear, continuous, and consistent data architecture leadership at a detailed level within the project
· Provide mentoring and coaching for architects
· Ensure the end-to-end solution is fit for purpose, meet the needs of business, the agreed requirements, and are both pragmatic and supportive of the strategic architecture direction
· Lead and participate in the peer review and quality assurance of project architectural artifacts across EA group through governance forums. Report key architecture decisions and implications to the architectural governance forums
· Identify and communicate appropriate resource requirements and work breakdown structure based on skills profile and best fit to complete the end-to-end solution design, and work with the project manager to ensure that project plans and finances align with the design
· Lead the design, development, implementation and maintenance of data management systems and solutions
· Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence
· Create and maintain current- and target-state data architectures
· Define and manage standards, guidelines and processes to ensure data quality, security and compliance.
· Oversee end-to-end data life cycle management activities
· Work with IT teams, business analysts and data analytics teams to understand data consumers’ needs and develop solutions
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of applicable experience
· Significant experience in delivering data solutions
· Experience in analyzing, building and documenting data, data models, data quality, data products, etc., end to end lifecycle of data product.
· Fluent level of English, both written and spoken
· Extensive knowledge of data cataloging, data warehousing, data modeling, data lakes, data platforms, and/or data analysis processes
· Experience in working with enterprise systems and their data models. (e.g. SAP, Salesforce.com,ServiceNOW )
· Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
· Ability to relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs
· Experience in working as part of Agile teams and using agile and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence
· Experience in analyzing and understanding the data models from various systems and propose new integrated data models to fulfil a use case
· Experiencing in documenting and communicating data models to Development teams.
· Knowledge of with ETL processes and tools for data transformation
· Experience working on AWS cloud environment and analytics services
· Experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau, QuickSights, etc.
· Ability to regularly learn and adopt new technology
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams
